Happy New Year!
It’s 2010 - it sounds so very futuristic, doesn’t it? What we want to know is…where are our flying cars?!? It would sure make driving through this snowy season a bit easier!
Winter is a such a great time for those of us who work with fiber, isn’t it? All of a sudden, it doesn’t seem so silly that we were knitting hats and wooly socks in August, and everyone is asking us if we can make some for them too! Why not treat yourself to a new skill this season? We’re offering a new class in tapestry weaving, and Navajo weaving is back by popular demand! We have a full range of knit, crochet and spinning classes as well: knit a quick and easy top-down sweater, find out how to spin woolen-spun yarn, or learn how to knit everyone in your family warm, wooly mittens and hats. For an extra special treat, plan to spend a cozy day at one of our all-day workshops. We hope that all of you enjoyed your end of the year holidays, and that you’ll knit, crochet, spin and weave with us as we wait for the return of the light and warmth to our little corner of the world! Special All-Day Workshops |

Our all-day workshops are a wonderful way to treat yourself to a whole day of fiber arts. It’s a great way to learn something new and enjoy the camaraderie of spending the day with people who love fiber just as much as you do!
Needle Felting Workshop Spend a day painting and sculpting with wool! Learn how to use needle felting techniques to make designs on fabric or create intricate models. If you have already attended this workshop, this is a great opportunity to learn further techniques and refine your needle felting skills. Sunday, February 21, 10:00am to 4:00pm
Color & Fiber Blending & Designer Yarns Workshop

We were very excited to get your responses back from our survey in the last newsletter! We love knowing what makes you love fiber!
Almost all who responded knit: 97%! Crochet and spinning were tied at 20%, and 7% love to weave. Other passions that you have are rug hooking and braiding, quilting and tatting. Many of you (43%) haven’t met a fiber you don’t love. Of the rest, a lot of you checked more than one favorite! Wool was the most favored, followed closely by alpaca and acrylic. Cotton and cashmere are equally well-loved, and silk and mohair are apparently misunderstood! A whopping 90% of you sometimes knit (or crochet, spin or weave) just for the sake of doing it and sometimes are itching to get something finished. Of the rest, 7% are more interested in the process, 3% are in it for the product. When it comes to numbers of projects, most of you (70%) only have 2-5 going on at any one time. 17% of you have too many to count, 7% have “several”, and the rest of you are committed to one project at a time. That takes some serious dedication! We’ve taken a look at your class suggestions and started planning classes around them. A few are happening this quarter; look
